Galleria Tucci closes

30 September 2007:  After about 18 months of operations, we decided to close the "new" Galleria Tucci in Marsciano's Old Town.  The reason was simple.  As is the case with most real estate situations, the three most important factors are location, location, and location!  Unfortunately, a combination of commune politics and local economics meant that the potential visitor/client traffic at our location was virtually zero.  This translated into no sales = no income.  The net result was a no-win situation for commercial operations there, so, reluctantly, we closed the Galleria.

As a side note, the same problems applied to the Meeting Point beer shop next door.  Since the two operations were linked, the Meeting Point was also closed on 30 September.

Galleria Shows

Please see the pages Galleria Show and Luca Leandri One-Man Show for more information and pictures from these two events at the Galleria Yvette Tucci.

Galleria Yvette Tucci becomes La Maison d'Yvette

18 March 2006:  After considerable soul-searching, Manager Yvette finally decided to use the name "Galleria Yvette Tucci" for the newly opened gallery for mostre (exhibitions) and seminars in Marsciano's centro storico, and rename the boutique on via XX Settembre "La Maison d'Yvette".  This is a more descriptive use of the names, and the decision will be emphasised by new exterior signs for the new Galleria and the new La Maison.  In the mean time, it is "business as usual," regardless of the name on the door!

Galleria Yvette Tucci - Opening night

Here are a few photographs of the opening of the new Galleria Yvette Tucci on the evening of 18 March, 2006.  Sculptor Luca Lenadri and his wife were there to explain the finer points of the exhibition to visitors.  Food and drinks were available for those interested.

Galleria Yvette Tucci remodels Marsciano atelier

11 April 2005:  Galleria Yvette Tucci opens its newly-remodelled atelier in Marsciano's Centro Storico (old town) on the via XX Settembre.  The changes from the earlier "yoghurt shop" are remarkable!  The previous two small showrooms and a storage area have been combined into a single not so small showroom, defined by arches and decorated in typical Umbrian colours.

In addition to the remodelling, Yvette has added new items to the collection, particluarly flowers and an expansion of the Raku articles available from Luca Leandri.

Come in and see the difference!

The workover took almost two weeks, but the shop remained open for business!

Open at last!

Website published

5 January 2005:  Galleria Yvette Tucci published its Internet website today, located at www.GalleriaYvetteTucci.com.  The website will be updated on an irregular basis to reflect changes in the Galleria and the products available to you.  At the same time, a sign-up will be available for inclusion in a mailing list, so that you can receive future information of new items and other information of interest.

Renovation Works Planned for La Maison d'Yvette

24 December 2004:  Galleria Yvette Tucci was granted the final building permit for the minor renovation of the boutique at via XX Settembre 5-7 in the historic town centre of Marsciano.  The works are planned for mid-January 2005.  As a consequence, the Galleria will be closed for approximately two weeks in the second half of January.  After the renovations are complete, Yvette is planning a Grand Opening after completion of the works.  Watch the Galleria windows for the exact date for the Grand Opening.

La Maison d'Yvette opens in Marsciano

16 December 2004:  Galleria Yvette Tucci opens their new boutique in Marsciano today, Thursday afternoon, at via XX Settembre 5-7 in the historic town centre.  The shop is still in its original condition due to delays in receiving the appropriate building permits in time to open for Christmas with the "new look."  In spite of this, clients are amazed by the beauty, originality and variety of the products and the display in the former yoghurt shop, hardly noticing the surroundings.

The moving crew, bless their soaked bodies but stout hearts!
The moving crew on the weekend before opening, in streaming rain after 800 km transportation -- 1000 thanks!  Open at last!
